In this part the man and the boy both reminded me of my friends. They don't have exactly same character, but some particular parts they show similar reaction or personality.

The man : From the beggining of the story the way the man reacted to certain situations and his personality shown in the story reminded me of one person. Throughout the story, it's quite obvious that the man is hot tempered but somewhat motherly... The way the man cares about the boy's health and mood is similar to my friend. Of course, my friend doesn't overreact as much as the man do, but sometimes I do get nervous about my friend minding me too much.

(pg 247) He carried him up to the camp and covered him with blankets. he tried to get him to drink some water. He put more wood on the fire and knelt with his hand on his forehead. You'll be all right he said. He was terrified.
Dont go away, the boy said.
Of course I wont go away.
Even for just a little while.
No. I'm right here.
Okay. Okay, Papa.

I was surprised to see that actually our relationship? resembles this quote pretty much. I get kind of whinny with my friend and bit stubborn. However, my friend usually agrees with my opinion unless it is too reckless or he is in a bad temper. In the story, the man curses or make the readers nervous by his hot temper. However, I dont mean that he has bad character because I would have been in a rage or desparing if I were in his specific situations. I first thought that the man is somewhat thoughful. But as I continued my reading, I began to think that he reacted that way because of his hot temper. For example when he shot the second man he met on the road, the man with truck, he shot him at once when the stranger got hold of his boy. My first thought was that he loves the boy very much and is calm because of his oranized moves. But I thought more about this and figured out that he is rather quick tempered because if he is thoughtful then he might have not shot the stranger because of the risk he has to take. If just if his shot was off, then, it's almost 100% certain that the boy is going to be harmed. Furthermore, sometimes the man when he is in a rage, is not good at handling the boy's heartbreak. This usually happens when the man didn't help or harmed other people or when the man is risking his life to go into the house to find some foods.

What do you think would have happened to us all if we hadnt caught him? Just stop it.

After leaving the scene the boy usaully cries or whines or doesn't talk at all and this gets on the man's nerves. Lastly, my friend doesnt believe in people like the man doesnt. I'm still unsure if my friend trusts me or not. Eventhough my friend is popular among peers and seems to be nice to people around him, it doesnt mean that my friend is trusting that person.
