Christine, Letter to the Boy

Dear the boy,

Hello, I'm a person who knows what your father and you have come through so far. Well, I don't really know what made your world into disaster. All I can guess of is that something burned the whole world, leaving massive amount of ashes, bodies, and the coldness. I'm writing this letter to you, to encourage you and to give you some advice.

To begin with, I think you're a gallant child, to behave with such a dignity. Sometimes you may cry, but I can imagine(Though I won't be able to apply the exactly same situation on myself.. I'm living in totally different world. World with sunshine and warmth. I wish I could give some of those to you..) how hard it'll be to live through such a dangerous and uncomfortable surroundings. And it's really positive of you to live everyday with a hope; a hope that one day you and your father will reach to the South, and live in peace.

You always seem to care about the other people. Sometimes, even more than these day's people would do. Remember when you and your father went into house where many people were locked up in some kind of basement? They were being raised there(not even the word 'raised' is appropriate for that terrible sight..) and asking for help. I could clearly see that you got scared and shocked at the same time. Yet, later you had a conversation with your father about the reason why you two couldn't have saved those people. Though you found out the you couldn't help those people since then you two will also be in huge danger, you seemed to feel kind of guiltiness in your mind.

It was the same with the boy you met last time at the foggy town. You wanted to save him from the unsafe surroundings and take him with you. You even said that you could give him part of your food. Even nowadays, sometimes you wish that little boy was with you. Though it might be because of your loneliness, I believe that person can't think that kind of thing when there's no consideration in one's heart. Meanwhile, I want you to be careful, you know. There might be people those will try to make use of your kindness!

Also, your father seems to be very devoting and caring. As you can see, he always puts you at first, no matter what happens. Your(you and your dad's) whole routine is based on your condition, you know. Just think about it. You guys stop when ever you feel tired, and you both eat when ever you gets hungry. Often, you might feel sorry to your father, since you feel like you're only being burden to him. Meanwhile, you should know that you are the reason for him to live on. You, are the only reason for him to live. So never keep your dad down. Be his lighthouse.

Don't give up, though you face with the hardship! I'll wish you a good luck :D

Sincerely, Christine

p.s.: Congratulations for finding whole bunch of foods. I feel relieved, since those food will keep you guys up for at least a month!

  1. I really like your letter to the boy. I can feel how carefully you observed the boy and the man. I also noticed that the boy was trying a lot to help other people. By the way, the part that I liked the most was the ending part. I think it was very clever to mention the meaning of the boy to his father. By telling the boy that he is the only reason for the man to live, their relationship and especially the boy's love to his father would be much stronger, I think. It was very touching and I think the boy would be very glad to have a letter from you!

  3. Wow! Thanks to you I was able to see the good side? of the boy! In the past I only thought of the boy as a whiner who is a burden but one who is essential because he's the reason that the man is living for. But now I can see different perspectives. Also, I really liked this quote!

'Hello, I'm a person who knows what your father and you have come through so far.'

It's so~ creative. I'll look forward to your next work!!
